PURPOSE:To prevent the buckling breaking of glass fibers by so separating and constituting protection-covering layers that the expansion and shrinkage action of the protection covering layers do not affect cushion layers and glass fibers. CONSTITUTION:The retreated cut ends 31, 31' of protection films 3, 3' are fitted into the optical fiber core fitting holes 9, 9' of the hole diameter slightly larger than the outside diameter of the protection film layers 3, 3' at both ends of a reinforcing body 8, in such a manner as to be movable in the axial direction and be restrained in the diameter direction. Here, cushion layers 2, 2' and cores 6 are integrally bonded by means of an adhesive agent 7 to the reinforcing body 8. Since in the connection part of the optical fiber cores 6 the protection film layers 3, 3' are so separated that their expansion and shrinkage action does not affect the cushion layers 2, 2' and glass fibers 6 in the inside in this way, there is no relation at all to the glass fibers 6 even if the protection film layers 3, 3' shrink, hence the buckling breakage does not occur. |
