This elevator car (7) is provided with a car side wall (22c) having a recess (33). The opening of the recess (33) is covered with a storage wall (30). The recess (33) is normally closed by the storage wall (30). In an emergency, the recess (33) is opened, and a ladder (34) stored in the recess (33) is taken out. The storage wall (30) comprises a portion of the car side wall (22C). Therefore, the storage wall (30) maintains the design of the car side wall. Furthermore, since the ladder (34) is stored within the recess (33), the ladder (34) can be stored, saving space, while securing the landing area in the car (7). |
