Provided is an ESD protection device in which IR degradation is suppressed. The ESD protection device is provided with a multilayer substrate 3, a first discharge electrode 1, a second discharge electrode 2, and a discharge auxiliary electrode 6, wherein: a discharge portion 1a of the first discharge electrode 1 and a discharge portion 2a of the second discharge electrode 2 are disposed facing each other in a laminated direction of insulating layers 3a-3g, with the discharge auxiliary electrode 6 sandwiched between the discharge portions; and hollows 4, 7 are formed within the multilayer substrate 3 at a portion on the opposite side of the discharge portion 1a of the first discharge electrode 1 from the discharge auxiliary electrode 6, and/or a portion on the opposite side of the discharge portion 2a of the second discharge electrode 2 from the discharge auxiliary electrode 6. |
