<p>PURPOSE:To prepare the titled compound, easily, in high yield, in a short time, at a low temperature, by reacting a specific epoxide compound with an equimolar amunt of an isopropylamine metal amide, and decomposing the reaction product with an aqueous solution of NH4Cl or treating the reaction product with a protonic solvent. CONSTITUTION:The titled compound of formula II is prepared by (1) reacting an amide of formula MNHCH(CH3)2 [M is MgX (X is Cl, Br, or I), Li, or SiR3 (R is Ch3 or C2H5)] with a 1-aryloxy-2,3-propylene oxide of formula I (Ar is 1-naphthyl or 4-indolyl), and (2) decomposing the product with aqueous solution of ammonium chloride or treating the product simply with a protonic solvent such as methanol, ethanol, acetic acid, water, etc. The reactivity of the low-reactive isopropylamine can be remarkably increased by converting to the metal amide. The reaction can be carried out without using particular apparatus and emitting ill odor. USE:Remedy for arrhythmic auricular fibrillation and the diseases of the coronary vessel.</p> |
