Exercise-promoting arrangement 2 intended for a person 1, comprising on the one hand a unit (bicycle ergometer) which can be acted on by the exertion of the person and on the other hand a unit 3 generating an air flow towards the face of the person. The air flow 3a is adapted so as to pass through an air-cleaning arrangement 3b, at the same time as the intensity of the air flow is variable, for example increased air flow with increased exertion. Oxygen 14 can be added to the air flow. The loading of the unit, and thus the degree of exertion of the person, can be varied in time according to a programme, the variation of the loading in time being controlled by a timer assigned to a programme adapted for the person in question.
