DYE IMAGE FORMING PROCESS

The disclosure describes a method of processing an imagewise-exposed light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material by a developer. The method comprises conducting the processing in the presence of an aromatic primary amine developing agent and a coupler represented by the following formula (I): (I) wherein Cp represents a monovalent residue obtained by removing one hydrogen atom from the active methylene of a cyan coupler; R1 and R2 individually represent hydrogen, halogen or a monovalent group; R3, R4 and R5 individually represent an alkylene group; an arylene group or an aralkylene group; R6 represents hydrogen, or an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group; Z represents a simple bond, oxygen, imino or a divalent organic group; and n, p and q individually are 0 or a positive integer, provided that n, p and q do not simultaneously mean 0. When using the above coupler, the thickness of the lightsensitive layer can be reduced, and a high resolving power and a high sharpness can be attained in the dye image.
