The method and arrangement are for analysing in automatic analyser systems the separation of deposits from liquids operate on the continuous flow principle. The automatic analyser replaces expensive manual methods and enables the use of imprecise sample quantities. Thus steps involving pipettes and centrifuges are eliminated. The precipitate, which is contained in or produced in a fluid being analysed, is allowed to be deposited in a straight horizontal section of a sample flow uniformly separated by air pockets into segments. This may follow an incubation period. This sediment is pumped off and an exact fraction of the remaining sample flow is removed for analysis. The sedimentation section of the analyser follows the junction of air and reagent feed tubes and has deposit and fluid outlet tubes.
