PURPOSE:To shorten the signal line monitor interval and improve the line use efficiency to detect the line fault in the early stage, by generating an artificial character processing request independently of the character processing request in the line corresponding part. CONSTITUTION:The common control part turns on artificial processing request enable line 22 and makes AND circuit 15 conductive. Counter 12 performs always the count operation, and starts the count operation again from 0 after the maximum value is counted. In case of overflow, the artificial processing request is issued and is reported to the microprogram of the common control part through circuit 15, OR circuit 16, and processing request signal line 20. This program reads contents of status register 13 by status information transmission line 23 to discriminate the polarity of various kinds of signal line from the MODEM. |
