摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To detect a run-out side thickness accurately, by taking in consideration the variation of the run-out side thickness owing to the roll eccentricity at detecting the run-out side thickness according to a gauge-meter system. CONSTITUTION:In the rolling mill 1, the roll gap detector 4 produces a signal S0 for the roll gap of the work rolls 2, and the load cell 5 produces a signal P1 for the rolling load applied to the backup rolls 3. The multiplier 10 multiplies the signal P1 by the reciprocal of the mill constant M sent from the setter 9; the adder 11 produces a signal S0+P1/M to the subtracter 14. On the other hand, the pulse generator 6 produces a pulse for r.p.m. of the roll 3 to the arithmetic unit 7 for operating the frequency of roll eccentricity; the arithmetic unit 7 counts the input pulse and produces an angular frequency omegaE of roll eccentricity to the band-pass filter 8. The band-pass filter 8 processes this angular frequency omegaE with the input P1 and produces a signal DELTAPE for the variation of the rolling load owing to the roll eccentricity to the multiplier 12; the multiplier 12 multiplies this signal DELTAPE by a constant (M+m)/M.m in which (m) is the plasticity factor of the rolled material; the resultant of multiplication is sent to the subtracter 14. The subtracter 14 operates the difference between this input and the output of the adder 11, and produces an output for the true thickness on the run-out side.</p>
