A semiconductor light-emitting device according to an embodiment comprises a first metal member, a semiconductor light-emitting element, and an insulation layer. The first metal member comprises a first metal plate containing copper, and a first metal layer containing silver. The first metal layer is interposed between the semiconductor light-emitting element and the first metal plate. The insulation layer contains silicon oxide. The first metal plate has a first metal plate side face, which intersects a plane that is orthogonal to a first direction, defined as being the direction from the first metal layer toward the semiconductor light-emitting element. The insulation layer is in contact with the first metal plate side face.
