The present invention relates to the field of pattern processing for electronic charts, and particularly to an electronic chart display method and system. The method of the present invention comprises: positioning an electronic chart region to be displayed using a rectangular cutting window; cutting out objects completely located outside the cutting window and the portions located outside the cutting window of objects partially located inside the cutting window in a manner of traversing an electronic chart, and only reserving the portions located inside the cutting window; then, loading objects in a memory bitmap; and finally, displaying same on a screen in a manner of the memory bitmap, thereby greatly reducing the data amount loaded in a memory, and improving the display speed of the electronic chart. |
