<p>PURPOSE:To improve heat radiation efficiency and transmission efficiency by maintaining the terminal part of an optical submarine cable watertight under high pressure by a water pressure resistant cylinder, connecting the same to a low-pressure sealing part having a circuit unit then filling a resin in the spacing thereof. CONSTITUTION:A fixing fitting 14 is mounted to the terminal of an optical submarine cable 9, and a high-tension wire 10 is fixed thereto. A feeder 11 is connected to a terminal 17, and optical fiber strands 12, 13 are drawn out from a sealing fitting 27. Thence, an anchor case 18 is mounted to the cable 9, and polyethylene molding 21 is applied, thereby forming a high-pressure watertight part. After the strands 12, 13 and the feeder 11 are connected to the terminal 39 of a low-pressure sealing part 33 incorporating a circuit unit 3, a cylinder 36 and the case 18 are fixed, a boot 48 is put on, and polybutane or the like is injected through injection holes 50, 52. Therefore, the need for universal joints and bellows is eliminated, the construction is simplified, and transmission losses are reduced.</p> |
