<p>1514499 Recovering polypropylene from solutions thereof STANDARD OIL CO 12 Nov 1975 [21 July 1975 14 Nov 1974] 46733/75 Heading C3L A method for the recovery of soluble polypropylene from solutions thereof comprises (a) partially steam stripping the spent organic polymerization medium to remove volatile components and to form an aqueous phase from condensed steam and a concentrated waterinsoluble phase containing soluble polypropylene, (b) separating the water insoluble phase from the aqueous phase and (c) evaporating volatile components from the separated waterinsoluble phase to obtain fluid polypropylene. The process may be carried out continuously to give concentrates containing 10-70 wt. per cent of soluble polypropylene in the spent polymerization medium which may be hexane.</p> |
