<p>A selective-printing roll for identifying different types of mail, and means for adjustment thereof, is disclosed, for use in a franking machine. The selective-printing roll is mounted within the printing drum, in the endplates thereof and is adjusted by gearing. In order to reduce the space occupied by the adjusting gears, a second shaft runs in a bore in a first shaft. In order to restrictaxial displacement, and to secure the second shaft axially, a gearwheel mounted rigidly thereon is guided in a suitably dimensioned slot in the said first shaft.</p> |
