The body weight in a water ski is carried by buoyancy providing round or square section pipes with grooves. The pipes for a shaft point in the direction of movement and the shoes on the pipes may or may not be fitted with attachment buckles. The ski stocks are fitted with water-tight hollow elements at their ends in either conical or pyramidal shape, with their points fixed to the ski stock.
