PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of an incinerator and to ensure safe operation of the same, by connecting a gas passage for supplying gas to a catalytic burner and a gas passage for supplying gas to a pilot burner through an orifice so that a thermocouple of a heating burner is also heated by the flame of the pilot burner. CONSTITUTION:When gas passages 3, 14, 15 are opened by manipulating knobs 12, 13 and burners 8, 7 are ignited, thermocouples 10, 11 are heated and electromotive forces produced thereby are increased, so that safety valves in a cock 2 and a timer valve 5 can be kept open. However, the gas passage 14 is closed by turning the knobs 12, 13 back to their orginal inoperative positions, flame produced by the pilot burner 8 is reduced, so that heating of the thermocouple 11 is stopped. During the above while, flame of the pilot burner 8 is maintained by gas supplied through an orifice 9. Subsequently, electromotive force produced by the thermocoule 11 is reduced to zero with cooling of the thermocouple 11 and the safety valve in the timer valve 5 is closed, so that the heating burner is extinguished. By this time, the catalyst is heated and activated sufficiently. Thus, it is enabled to simplify the structure of the incinerator and to ensure safe operation of the same. |
