PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient reproduction output from an internal circumferential area with reliability by the information recording surface of a magnetic disk into an internal circumferential side and an external circumferential side, and increasing the track width and track pitch of an area of the internal circumferential side. CONSTITUTION:The information recording surface of a magnetic disk 3 is divided into >=2 areas; an internal circumferential area 10 and an external circumferential area 11. The track width 6 and track pitch 7 of the internal circumferential area 10 are made relatively greater than the track width 8 and track pitch 9 of the external circumferential area 11. In this case, a disk device with a movable head controls the said track pitches in accordance with the respective areas by varying, for example, the movement distance of a carriage by differentiating between the recording and reproducing operation of the internal and external circumferential areas. |
