PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system capable of detecting illegal rewriting of firmware of an apparatus, and to provide an information processor, and a firmware program.SOLUTION: In the information processing system including a first device 1 (PC), and a second device 2 (a USB device) holding firmware to perform processing based on the firmware, the second device 2 receives a command from the first device 1, and transmits a predetermined response as processing of the firmware in the case that the received command is a prescribed authentication command. Also, the first device 1 transmits the prescribed authentication command to the second device 2, receives a response to the prescribed authentication command from the second device 2, and determines the existence/absence of firmware alteration of the second device 2 according to whether or not the received response is a predetermined response.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
