PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic force soft actuator capable of being used as a drive source for various types of machines and devices, particularly robot-related apparatuses.SOLUTION: With a cover code as a trunk, both end parts of the cover code as coupling parts and its middle part as an operation part, the electromagnetic force soft actuator is configured so that a basic unit is formed from a material (a flexible magnetic material) charged into a cavity of the operation part and changing a volume shape according to a changing stimulus of a magnetic field and a soft coil provided on an outer periphery of the operation part. Furthermore, the electromagnetic force soft actuator includes means for converting a force which deforms in a radial direction of the flexible magnetic material by an electromagnetic force generated by applying voltage to the soft coil into a force which deforms in an axial direction of the operation part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
