PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for scanning, by making the scanning density low in a place, where a photographic film does not exist, in case that compression of a density region, condition set of gamma correction, or photographs are subjected to the information processing to photoprint them. CONSTITUTION:A rotary cylinder 1 where windows 2 to which photographic films 3 are attached are provided on the circumferential wall is provided, and films are irradiated from a light source 23 by a minute spot 29. In this case, an optical checking device is provided which detects a transmitted light with a photodetector 33 and an infrared-ray detector 35 for film detection. A rotation driving device 21 for the rotary cylinder 1, a device 12 for driving the rotary cylinder 1 in the axial direction, and angle position detecting device 20 for the rotary cylinder 1, and a control circuit which operates the device 12 by a set feed quantity while the spot 29 is placed in a detected angle section where the window 2 does not exist on the rotary cylinder 1 are provided. Thus, the scanning density is low in places where films do not exist, and the time required for overall scanning is shortened. |
