The invention relates to an electronic circuit breaker (1) having at least one first semiconductor switch (2a) which is connected into a current path (3a) between a voltage input (4) for a supply voltage (UDS) and a load output (5) for a load (7) which is connected or is to be connected, wherein a second semiconductor switch (2b) for switching on a current limiting path (3b) is connected in parallel with the first semiconductor switch (2a), wherein the semiconductor switches (2a, 2b) are controlled by means of a comparator (9) which is supplied with a monitoring signal (SDS) derived from the drain-source voltage of the semiconductor switches (2a, 2b), wherein the comparator (9) is supplied, via a threshold value input (E2), with a reference signal (RDS) as the switch-off threshold value (UDS) for the first and/or second semiconductor switch (2a, 2b), and wherein a functional module (21) which increases the switch-off threshold value (UDS) for a limited time is assigned to the comparator (9) on the input side. |
