PURPOSE:To avoid the dispersion in a magnetic field strength distribution and to achieve a desired performance easily, by filling in magnetic member in grooves of a block made of nonmagnetic metallic material formed with comb-shaped grooves. CONSTITUTION:A nonmagnetic ferrite block 14 is processed for comb-shaped grooves, and materials 11, 12 and 13 kneading strontium ferrite magnet as magnetic powder and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer as bonding material are injection-molded to grooves 14a-14c while a magnetic field is being applied so that the magnetic powder can be oriented toward the running direction of a recording medium. After the cooling of the block, the magnetic field is stopped and demagnetization is performed. The sliding surface is shaped for the block and an inverted gradually decreasing magnetic field distribution is obtained through magnetization. The magnetization is performed with a magnetizer 15 toward the direction of recording medium sliding. Thus, the variance in the magnetic field intensity distribution can be avoided and the desired characteristics can be obtained easily. |
