PURPOSE:To prevent a windshield from being scratched when a wiper is not actuated, by freely moving at least one end of fixed ends of a spring which causes to press a wiper arm to the windshield, and thus changing the spring force. CONSTITUTION:A wiper head 7 is secured to a tip end of a wiper shaft 6 pivotally mounted to a wiper unit base 5, while a wiper arm 10 and a wiper pressure adjusting bell crank 14 are pivotally attached to the head 7. One end 14a of the bell crack 14 is connected to a spring hook 15 of a wiper arm 10 via a coil spring 16. A slide piece 18 a ball 19 and an adjust rod 20 are slidably fitted in a groove 17 formed in the longitudinal direction of a shaft 6. The rod 20 is provided with a stopper 22 being engageable with an engaging groove 21 formed near the rear end of the groove 17 and a lever 23, while the above mentioned slide piece 18 is engaged with the other end 14b of the bel crank 14. |
