<p>PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent initial bond strength, by adding pyrogallol and a specified polyalkyl ether plasticizer to an alpha-cyanoacrylate. CONSTITUTION:0.0001-0.5wt% pyrogallol and 0.05-20wt% polyalkyl ether plasticizer of formula II [wherein X1 is H, methyl; X2 is X1, cyano; X3 is H, R2, R2CO, except the case where X3 is H when X2 is cyano; R2 is hydrocarbon residue contg. no anionic polymerizable group; l, m, n are each an integer and (l+m)>=1, n>=1] are added to an alpha-cyanoacrylate of formulaI(wherein R3 is a 1-16C hydrocarbon residue which may be substituted). EFFECT:The adhesive exhibits excellent initial bond strength even in the bonding of wood, chrome-plated articles, nickel-plated articles, polyesters, etc. which can be difficultly bonded with conventional alpha-cyanoacrylate adhesives.</p> |
