PURPOSE:To secure column-in operation by rotating and stopping a machine and a file reel, one by one, in this order in a device which leads a magnetic tape into a vacuum column type buffer mechanism. CONSTITUTION:While a file reel 1 is still, a machine reel 2 is rotated as shown by an arrow A. At this time, air holes 18 and 19 and air inlet holes 7, 8, 10, and 11 are arranged as shown in the figure, so a tape is drawn into a subcolumn 6 firstly. Then when the reel 2 is further rotated, the tape comes to the inside of the air hole 19, thus inserting a prescribed amount of the tape into a main column 5. When the reel 2 is stopped and the reel 1 is rotated in the opposite direction to the arrow A, the tape is sucked to the inside of the air hole 18 and is inserted into a main column 4 by a prescribed quantity. After the inserting operation, the reel 1 is stopped and thus the column-in operation ends. |
