PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic tape cassette which effectively utilizes the space in the box body and has a built-in reel lock mechanism which surely works with fewer parts, by mounting a lock arm having a pair of tying clicks in the container of the reel location controlling partition parts. CONSTITUTION:The ratchet teeth 28 and 29 are formed on the outer periphery of reel flanges 26 and 27 of tape reels 22 and 23, and, at the same time, a lock arm 31 is fitted in a container 40 installed in a central partition part 30 which controls locations of the reels 22 and 23. The lock arm 31 is made of, for example, plastic by molding in one body and has a lock click, a drum section, leg pieces, etc. This lock arm 31 is designed in such a way that, when the tape cassette is mounted, a lock releasing pin installed in the record reproducing device presses the head of the lock arm 31 and the releasing of the lock is obtained by separating the lock click from the ratchet teeth 28 and 29 of the reel flanges 26 and 27. |
