PURPOSE:To perform a suitable charging operation, by transmitting/receiving the content of service, charge or charging information, through the use of a channel independent of those for communication. CONSTITUTION:When coins or a magnetic card is deposited at a terminal 21, a calling code is transmitted to a station 1. The station 1 makes ground discrimination and transmits a unit charge and a unit time determined with the charging system to the terminal 21 as charge information. The terminal 21 displays calls possible for communication or time to a display 27 possible for the amount of accumulated value. The station 1 transmits a response signal from a called party and charging information, the terminal 21 calculates and displays the residual calls or time possible for communication, and every time a charging signal is incoming from the station 1, the charge is contained and the residual call or time is displayed. When the called party hooks on, communication end information comes from the station 1 to the terminal 21, and the terminal 21 completes the said display and when the on-hook is made at the terminal 21, a DC loop between the station 1 and the terminal 21 is interrupted. |
