PURPOSE:To provide a flame-retardant polyphenylene resin compsn. having improved moldability without deteriorating physical properties, by adding a phosphate ester oligomer compd. to a mixture of a polyphenylene ether resin and other high-molecular material. CONSTITUTION:0.1-20pts.wt. phosphate ester oligomer compd. having a number- average MW of 500-5,000 and a repeating unit of the formula (wherein R is a 2-10c aliph, hydrocarbon residue, alicyclic hydrocarbon residue) is added to 100pts.wt. polyphenylene ether resin consisting of a polyphenylene ether resin and other high-molecular material compatible with said polyphenylene ether resin. As said polyphenylene ether resin, poly (2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene)ether is particularly preferred. As said phosphate ester oligomer compd., those having a number-average MW of 500-5,000 are preferred. |
