PURPOSE:To work many types of gear continuously without stopping a grindstone, by providing means for synchronizing the rotations of a gear work and a tool and means for making asynchronous and making in phase both tooth faces. CONSTITUTION:While rotating a grindstone 3 continuously, the rotation of a work 12 and the phase of the tooth face are matched. A work spindle motor 11 is driven such that the pulse number from a pulse generator 4 indicating the rotation of the grindstone 3 will be equal to the pulse number from a pulse generator 16 indicating the rotation of the work 12 thereby both of them will rotate synchronously. If the phases of both tooth faces are not the asynchronous signal is provided by a grindstone tooth face detection sensor 30 and a work tooth face detection sensor 32, from a phase detecting section 33 to a line 42 thus to increase or decrease the speed of the work spindle motor 11 until the phases are matched. |
