PURPOSE:To prevent the dewing of sulfurous acid gas included in the exhaust gases from a diesel engine by a method wherein air sucked into the engine is preheated by utilizing cooling water for cooling the cylinder jacket of the diesel engine so that the sucked air is kept at a temperature higher than a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:An air preheater 7 is interposed in a section 6a of a feed air passage 6 on the inlet side of a supercharger 2 so that the sucked air A is preheated by the cooling water W supplied from a feed water pipe 8 so as to cool the cylinder jacket of the diesel engine. Further, a flow rate control valve 9 is interposed midway in the feed water pipe 8. The valve 9 is controlled by the signal from a control box 2 which receives as inputs the signal from a temperature detector 10a provided at the section 6a of the feed air passage 6 on the inlet side of the supercharger 2 and the signal from a temperature detector 10b provided on the upstream side of an exhaust gas economizer 5 in an exhaust gas passage 11. As a consequence, the sucked air is kept at a temperature higher than a predetermined value. |
