IN-LINE-TYPE COLOR PICTURE TUBE

PURPOSE:To enable a picture which is clear in all luminance levels to be projected upon the entire area of a phosphor screen by producing a non-centered lens between a G2 electrode and a G3 electrode in addition to producing a non- centered lens between a G1 electrode and the G2 electrode. CONSTITUTION:Both the electron-beam passing hole 8 of a G1 electrode 4 and the electron-beam passing hole 9 of a G2 electrode 5 are made to have a specail non-centered form, so that non-centered electron lenses are produced between the G1 electrode 4 and the G2 electrode 5 as well as between the G2 electrode 5 and a G3 electrode 6. Since the angle of the vertical divergence of beam is made small due to the axially asymetrical lens produced between the G2 electrode 5 and the G3 electrode 6, the degree to which a beam spot becomes vertically long is very small. As a result, the resolution in the peripheral part of a screen can be increased without deteriorating the vertical resolution at the central part of the screen.
