An alloy composition for use for casting single crystals comprises a modified nickel superalloy. The alloy consists of the following components in percent by weight: 8-10% of chromium 0-15% of cobalt 1.5-3% of titanium + 1/2 niobium 5-6.5% of aluminium 3-10.5% of tungsten 0-3.5% of molybdenum 0-3.5% of tantalum 0-0.5% of hafnium 0-1.5% of vanadium 0.015-0.05% of carbon 0-0.01% of boron 0-0.05% of zirconium the remainder being formed by nickel and any impurities. The invention also relates to a heat treatment for this alloy, in which heating is initially effected to 1300 DEG -1320 DEG C and thereafter the metal piece is left for 16 hours at a temperature of 870 DEG C, and, if necessary, an intermediate step at 1080 to 1120 DEG C for one hour may be carried out. |
