PURPOSE:To improve durability and thermal stability, by adhering polyester films which are oriented only in one direction on both surfaces of a polarizing film by intersecting the same roughly orthogonally with the absorbing axis direction of the polarizing film. CONSTITUTION:Polyester films 2 which are oriented in only one direction are adhered to a polarizing film 1 via transparent adhesive layers. The films 2 are adhered in such a way that the orientation direction (arrow b) thereof intersects roughly orthogonally with the absorbing axis (arrow a) of the film 1. Since these films are adhered by intersecting the absorbing axis direction of the film 1 roughly orthogonally with the orientation direction of the polyster films which are oriented only in one direction as surface protecting layers, the shrinkage of the films are suppressed by each other in the stage of heating, and the directivities of the respective films are offset, whereby dimensional stability and further thermal stability and mechanical strength are improved. |
