PURPOSE:To provide an actual transmission ratio appropriate to forward movement in the case thereof or to backward movement in the case thereof, by using a forward or backward movement signal when an ideal transmission ratio sent out from a transmission ratio calculation circuit is converted into the steplike actual transmission ratio in a comparator circuit. CONSTITUTION:The speed w of a vehicle and the load (u) on an engine are applied to a transmission ratio calculation circuit X1, the output of which is entered into a hysteretical comparator circuit X4 through an amplifier circuit X5 to operate a relay through an electrical current amplifier circuit X6 and thereafter operate a power gear shifter by a hydraulic control system X8 to atuomatically and appropriately change the speed. At that time, an actual transmission ratio appropriate to forward movement in the case thereof or to backward movement in the case thereof is provided by a forward or backward movement signal X2 which is applied to speed change point setting circuit X3 to judge whether the vehicle is moving forward or backward. |
