PURPOSE:To stabilize the damping force of a shock absorber, by preventing the partial contact between a piston rod and the end of a guide bushing and/or between the piston rod and the end of a piston ring to improve the lubrication between them. CONSTITUTION:A rod guide 13 and a piston 19 are provided with automatically aligning ball bearings 14, 24. When a piston rod 12 has tilted, the automatically aligning ball bearings 14, 24 act to prevent the partial contact between the piston rod and the end of a guide bushing 18 and between the end of a piston ring 21 and a cylinder 11. |
