PURPOSE:To obtain a head which has high sensitivity and excellent characteristics by short-circuiting a part of a conductor to a part of a conductor having an embedded tip. CONSTITUTION:A head device has a groove of prescribed size in a nonmagnetic material substrate 21. In this groove, the 1st conductor 22 is embedded and then the surface of the conductor 22 and that of the substrate 21 are lapped into the same plane to prescribed groove depth. In the top surface of the substrate 21 wherein the conductor 22 is embedded, part of the conductor 22 is exposed and an insulating film 23 is arranged. After a magnetic material 24 having prescribed track width TW is formed on the insulating film 23, the surface of the magnetic material 24 is covered with the insulating film 25. A conductor 26 is then formed through said insulating film 25. At this time, part of the conductor 26 is connected to the surface-exposed conductor 22 at its exposure part to form an electric short circuit. |
