PURPOSE:To decrease the number of control signals, by displaying zero in all digits higher than the highest digit of the numeral value in a display element when a distance is displayed, and displaying nothing in the digits higher than the highest digits of an integer part of the numeral value in the display element when a trip is displayed. CONSTITUTION:A display control circuit 2 computes the running distance from a pulse train signal 3, and displays the distance or trip on the display element 1. When the distance is indicated by the previous operation of a switch 4, zero is displayed in the digits 1a-1c which are higher than the highest digit 1d of the displayed numeral value. When the driver operates the switch 4, the display control circuit 2 displays the trip, and nothing is displayed in the digits 1a-1d which are higher than the highest digit 1e of the displayed numeral value. When the integer part is not present and only the decimal part is present, zero is displayed in the first digit from the decimal point. |
