Arrangement for performing electrophoretic separations in a vertical gel plate 4 arranged between a thermostat plate 1 and a cover plate 3, in which the gel is subjected to a voltage via buffer solutions in an upper and a lower buffer solution vessel 5, wherein the thermostat plate 1 at the lower buffer vessel 5 projects beyond the gel plate 4 and the cover plate 3 in both horizontal and vertical direction and, via a U-shaped packing seal 6 along the portion of the thermostat plate 1 that projects beyond the gel plate 4, lies against the outer side of a side surface at the lower buffer vessel 5, and this side surface inside the packing 6 is provided with a cavity by which buffer solution can be brought into contact with the lower end of the gel plate 4. <IMAGE> |
