PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt conveyance device able to correct belt skew and inclination, which result from a change in circumferential length in the direction of belt width, in a shorter time.SOLUTION: Both ends of a tension roller 9 are supported by bearing members 22a and 22b. The tension roller 9 is pushed in against a belt by pressing the bearing members with a spring member 38 in the direction of a belt, and consequently, tension is applied to an intermediate transfer belt, not shown. A change in the inclination angle of the tension roller is calculated by the output difference between displacement sensors 21a and 21b arranged opposite the bearing members 22a and 22b respectively. If there is any deviation in the circumferential length of the belt, a push-in amount of the tension roller differs between both the ends. The push-in amount of tension roller is adjusted by changing the pressing force of the spring member 38 so as to correct the change in inclination angle. |
