摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled Al alloy having sufficient hardness, superior wear resitance and plastic workability and free from surface defects due to blow holes oxides, coarse intermetallic compounds, etc. by specifying the amounts of Si, Cu and Mg contained in Al. CONSTITUTION:This Al alloy for the sliding member of a magnetic tape consists of, by weight, 3-5% Si, 1.5-3.0% Cu, 1.0-2.0% Mg and the balance Al with inevitable impurities. Si enhances the wear resistance of the alloy. Cu and Mg increase the strength of the alloy by heat treatment, prevent surface defects due to blow holes, oxides, coarse intermetallic compounds, etc., enhance the wear resistance furthermore, and improve the machinability.</p>
