PURPOSE:To obtain a bright video, by transferring a video projected to a scattering plate, to the end face of a bundled optical fiber at every unit picture element, and displaying it by utilizing a scattering action of light. CONSTITUTION:A reflection screen 1 has a scattering plate 2 and a reflecting layer 3, the plate 2 bundles and fixes many short optical fibers 4 having the almost same length, so that they closely adhere to each other, in a state that each end face is on almost the same plane, the whole shape is formed in a plate having almost fixed thickness, and the layer 3 is formed as one body by sticking its reflecting face to the plate 2. By one fiber 4, light for forming a projected image point P of the end face is made incident into the fiber while being refracted by the end face, advances in the direction of the layer 3, repeating total reflection by a cylindrical boundary face of a core layer and a clad layer, is reflected by the layer 3, and thereafter, is returned to the incident end face. In this process, light is scattered, and the display face of the plate 2 is visually confirmed as an aggregate of light emitting points for emitting scattered light, respectively. |
