<p>PURPOSE:To prepare nitrogen gas of high purity in high yield, by using a pressure gas storage tank packed with a nitrogen adsorbent between an oxygen adsorption column and a product nitrogen gas storage tank, feeding the nitrogen gas from the storage tank to the adsorption column, and respressuring the nitrogen gas. CONSTITUTION:Raw material air is introduced from a conduit 1 through a compressor 2 into an adsorption column (4a) to adsorb and remove oxygen in an adsorbent. The air is then introduced through a directional control valve 6 and a pipe 5 into a pressurized gas storage tank 11 packed with a nitrogen adsorbent to adsorb the nitrogen partially under pressurized conditions. The remaining product nitrogen gas is then passed through a valve 12 and stored in a product gas storage tank 13. The adsorption column (4a) just before the saturation with the adsorbed oxygen is advanced to the pressure equalization step, and the nitrogen gas is fed through a pipe 8 and a valve 9 into the adsorption column (4b) after completing the regeneration step. The adsorption column (4a) is then advanced to the regeneration step, and the adsorbed oxygen gas is sucked under reduced pressure by a vacuum pump 10 to regenerate the adsorbent. On the other hand, nitrogen gas under pressure is fed from the storage tank 11 through the directional control valve 6 into the adsorption column (4b) after completing the pressure equalization step and pressurized. The raw material air is then fed thereinto.</p> |
