发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF ELECTRODE FOR LEAD STORAGE BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the utilization rate and lengthen the life of an electrode for a lead storage battery by using a porous electrode plate prepared by forming molten lead acetate before the formed body is subjected to reduction. CONSTITUTION:Lead acetate, after being heated and molten at about 300 deg.C, is formed into a rectangular or continuous sheet or the like. Next, the formed lead- acetate plate is immersed in a sulfuric-acid phosphoric-acid solution which produces a lead compound having a small solubility and doesn't deteriorate the characteristic of a lead storage battery when used in the battery, then electrolytic reduction is carried out by using a pure lead plate as a counter electrode. Here, such reduction is performed after a current-collecting member consisting of a bar, frame or net made of lead or a lead alloy is made in contact with the surface of the formed plate. The thus obtained base plate has a porosity of around 80%, and provides a lead electrode having a high utilization rate and a long life.
