PURPOSE:To seal a peripheral part and to obtain an interelectrode spacing having high uniformity, by dispersing fine granular spacers having insulation characeteristics for maintaining a spacified intersubstrate spacing between upper and lower substrates, and superposing and fixing the upper and lower substrates then sealing the peripherial part thereof with inorg. or org. insulation fibers impregnated with an epoxy resin. CONSTITUTION:Fine granular spacers 6 of alumina, glass, etc. are dispersed between upper and lower substrates 1, 2 formed with transparent electrodes 3 to make an intersubstrate spacing constant, and the upper and lower substrates are correctly positioned between rotary suction plates 10 and 11 for fixing the respective substrates. The substrates are fixed with the adjustment under pressurization. Org. or inorg. insulation fibers which are impregnated with an epoxy resin are wound between the substrates 1 and 2 while the plates 10, 11 are rotated slowly and tensile force is exerted on the impregnated fibers 7. The resin is cured by heating and the liquid crystal cell having a uniform inter-electrode spacing is obtd. Particularly the large-sized liquid crystal display panel having good uniformity in the spacing is thus made mass produceable at good yield. |
