An improved electrical water-heater comprises a feed water tube, a heater, a turbine, a gearbox, a generator and a voltage-controlling device. In this improved electrical water-heater, the water from a cold water mains flows into the feed water tube, successively through the heater and the turbine, and then discharges from the hot water outlet of the turbine. When the cold water flows through the turbine, the turbine is driven to actuate the generator which is connected to the heater via the voltage-controlling device. As a result, the electrical power generated is converted into heat energy by the heater thus heating up the cold water passing through the feed water tube. The turbine is provided with three collapsible blades 15 which are arranged to negotiate a block 14 which ensures that water flows only in at the inlet 12 and only out at the outlet 13. <IMAGE> |
