PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and density and to reduce fog without impairing film hardness, by using a gelatin deriv. by a specified proportion of the total gelatin in a water-permeable hydrophilic colloidal layer, and controlling an amino substitution rate of said deriv. within a speicified molar percentage. CONSTITUTION:A gelatin deriv. produced by reacting isocyanate, maleic anhydride, or the like with 10-90% of gelatin for constituting a photographic emulsion layer by the dry basis has its amino groups substd. by 20-90mol%. As a result, the obtained photographic material has high sensitivity and low fog without impairing film hardness. |
