<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the front and rear ends of a rolling material from meandering, and to improve productivity, by detecting a tension of the material at the inlet side of a mill, in a tandem rolling mill, etc., and forming the shape of a roll crown into a recessed shape when the detected value is lower than a set value. CONSTITUTION:A load meter 6 is attached to a looper roll disposed at the inlet side of each rolling mill 1. A bending commanding device is connected to the load meter 6 to transmit its signal to a bending device. When the front end of a rolling material 4 is bitten by the mill 1, upper and lower work rolls 2 are respectively bent into recessed shapes by the bending device to prevent the running material 4 from meadering. Further, when the rear end of the material 4 runs out from the mill 1, a tension imposed on the rear end is released, and a load imposed on the looper roll 5 is reduced. The load meter 6 detects the load change and transmits it to a bending commanding device of the next stage to compare it with a set value, and the work rolls 2 are bent into recessed shapes when the load is lower than the set value.</p> |
