PURPOSE:To keep constant the tension of a winder for a welding wire or the like, by comparing the speed of the moving wire with that of the shaft of a rewinder and using an electric operating mechanism to turn a potentiometer for adjusting the torque of the winder, depending on the difference between the compared speeds. CONSTITUTION:The speed of a moving wire found out by a detector 5 and the speed of the shaft of a rewinder 6 found out by a detector 7 are compared with each other by an electric operating mechanism 16 and drives a DC motor 16c to turn an inertia compensating potentiometer 13, a torque adjusting potentiometer 12 and a mechanical loss compensating potentiometer 14 to cause their angular positions to correspond to the outside diameter of the wire wound on a feed reel 1. Since a mechanical loss and the torque of the rewinder 6 decrease as the quantity of the wire on the feed reel 1 goes down, the output voltages of the potentiometers 14, 13 are changed so that a control signal for a reversible-type Leonard unit 8 becomes small. As a result, the tension of the wire is kept constant, the wire is prevented from being irregularly wound, and it is wound efficiently. |
