PURPOSE:To enable to record with characters of a size suited to the size of a paper, by changing the character size in accordance with the size of a recording area designated by a control command. CONSTITUTION:Character information, a printing signal, paper size information, font pattern data to be registered in a character generator 108b and the like are outputted from a processor 101 as sentence information. The sentence information for a one-page amount is processed through the first and second controllers 201, 202, and is stored in an RAM incorporated in the controller 202. On the other hand, access to the character generator 108b by a character size controlling part 108a is controlled in accordance with the paper size fed through the controller 202, and the size of a character pattern read from the character generator 18b for one-page amount of character information is charged. Accordingly, recording can be conducted with characters of the size suitable for the paper size. |
