PURPOSE:To reduce torque transmission loss while to eliminate continual operation or transient operation of compressor by adjusting the refrigerant path area and varying the path resistance through an adjusting means in accordance to operating condition thereby making the refrigerant circulation variable. CONSTITUTION:Upon increase of engine rotation, high and low rotation pistons 23, 24 will rotate through a pulley 5 to perform cooling and dehumidifying operations through delivery of refrigerant from a high pressure refrigerant de- livery port 25. Upon lowering of cabin temperature, a control circuit 21 will detect temperature to be set in accordance to the rotation which will not increase even if the rotation increases to open a gate valve 20 thus to deliver high pressure refrigerant into a valve slide hole 15 and to choke a refrigerant supply hole 16 through a slide valve 18 against the energizing force. Consequently the piston 24 will idle and only low rotation piston 23 will operate. In such a manner, torque transmission loss due to continuous clutching is eliminated while transient operation of compressor is also eliminated resulting in improvement of temperature control performance. |
